CMA CGM Lebanon is a major actor in shipping and logistics, managing more than 60% of the volumes of the country’s two container terminals in Beirut and Tripoli. Its 2,300+ employees provide the market with international expertise, value-added offerings and an unmatched quality of service, covering import, export and cross trade operations in reefer and dry containers in addition to end to end supply chain solutions.
Local footprint:
• The HUB Digital Center established back in December 2019, has a mission to create a unified vision for the digital age. The team includes experts from different digital fields such as blockchain, data engineering, digital project managers, API specialists, cybersecurity experts amongst other professions.
• The Levant Regional Office based in Lebanon covers Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Cyprus, Greece, and Turkey.
• The first Global Business Center in the region to cater for nearly 70 agencies in the Middle East, and Africa, in part of Asia (Pakistan) and Europe (Greece). GBSL was established in 2021 and continued its growth strategy during 2023 to reach 620 employees serving around 70 agencies. GBSL activities expended into new processes to cover Data Management, Documentation, Customer care, Finance & Accounting. In parallel to the expansion, GBSL invested into stabilizing its operations by mastering different processes focusing on service quality delivery and high KPI achievement. They also collaborated with The HUB to introduce new IT solutions to serve “Customer Centricity”.
• CMA CGM Foundation, led by Tanya Saadé Zeenny, plays an active role in Lebanon with a strategy and action plan built around two main pillars: humanitarian aid and education for all. The CMA CGM Foundation supports more than 100 local NGOs throughout the country
CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education
An ambitious Long-Term Scholarship Program for Ambitious Lebanese Students.
The CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education, launched by the CMA CGM Group, is an ambitious scholarship program aiming at contributing to the education system, by giving access to young Lebanese talents to top-notch education both in Lebanon and abroad and prevent brain drain.
The objective of this program is to support the youth and give access to the best education to the next generation of Lebanese executives who, once they graduate, they could join the ranks of leading international groups, such as CMA CGM Group. Enriched by their international experience, they will then be able to play a vital role in developing their home country.
Each year, the CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education will include 145 students selected based on various criteria, including academic excellence and socio-economic background, and split across all partner universities in Lebanon, France, or the United Kingdom.
The program currently includes in Lebanon the American University of Beirut (AUB), Saint Joseph University (USJ), Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (ESA), HEC Paris and Ecole Polytechnique in France, University of Oxford, King's College London, and Imperial College London in the United Kingdom. The candidates can apply mainly to the following majors including finance, business administration, economics, management, science, social science, engineering, mathematics, physics, and technology.
Interested students can already submit their application on the websites of the international universities participating in this program or visit the scholarship departments of the local partner universities.
